Netivot students have important advantages by learning in a mixed-age classroom. Grouping students within a typical range of 2 to 3 years enables the younger children to learn by observing their older role models, while the older children reinforce their knowledge by helping their younger apprentices. Students also benefit socially by interacting with slightly younger or older children, who have a similar maturity level and interests.

With all of its attention to individualization, Netivot still places a premium on cooperative interaction within the classroom. Learning to work well with others is one of Netivot’s most important lessons. Group projects allow the children to learn, not only the material, but also how to cooperate and achieve goals with individuals of varying strengths and skill levels.

Netivot students learn Judaic subjects, such as Parsha, Jewish History, Hebrew, and Chagim, with the same hands-on, dynamic approach they utilize in secular subjects. Everyday, Netivot teachers work to increase the children’s appreciation and understanding of Judaic subjects and enhance their love of Torah. The values Montessori students learn through their respectful interaction with each other, their teachers, and their classroom, reinforce the middot they are taught at home.
