At Netivot, the educational, social, physical, and emotional needs of the students are all addressed in a healthy, nurturing environment. Netivot provides all children with an opportunity to fall in love with the process of learning. Here, students develop the ability, focus, and enthusiasm to solve both, academic and social problems.

In a Montessori environment, children learn at their own pace and in ways that work best for them as individuals. Netivot draws on the students’ unique potential, enabling them to meet and exceed academic requirements.

Netivot teachers provide each student with individually-tailored, challenging, and stimulating materials. Montessori students learn in a “prepared environment,” where everything a child needs to learn is found in a carefully enriched classroom. In this calm, ordered space, children work on activities of their own choice and at their own pace. Learning becomes its own reward and each success fuels a desire to discover even more. The children experience a blend of freedom and self-discipline in a place specifically designed to meet their developmental needs.

Montessori teachers are trained to “follow the child” wherever the child’s interest leads and to build upon that interest by introducing new materials. Netivot teachers make sure that all students receive the appropriate assistance and motivation necessary in order to encourage their on-going success with increasingly difficult materials.

Netivot students have important advantages by learning in a mixed-age classroom. Grouping students within a typical range of 2 to 3 years enables the younger children to learn by observing their older role models, while the older children reinforce their knowledge by helping their younger apprentices. Students also benefit socially by interacting with slightly younger or older children, who have a similar maturity level and interests.

With all of its attention to individualization, Netivot still places a premium on cooperative interaction within the classroom. Learning to work well with others is one of Netivot’s most important lessons. Group projects allow the children to learn, not only the material, but also how to cooperate and achieve goals with individuals of varying strengths and skill levels.

Netivot students learn Judaic subjects, such as Parsha, Jewish History, Hebrew, and Chagim, with the same hands-on, dynamic approach they utilize in secular subjects. Everyday, Netivot teachers work to increase the children’s appreciation and understanding of Judaic subjects and enhance their love of Torah. The values Montessori students learn through their respectful interaction with each other, their teachers, and their classroom, reinforce the middot they are taught at home.

A mark of Montessori education is the seamless integration of all aspects of education. This enables Netivot students to discover the wondrous intersection of Torah and the world around them. Through the Montessori method of teaching, Netivot inspires each child to see and apply the work of HaShem in their daily life.
